In the creation of the Vodafone Rural Connect brand, our team took on the challenge of developing an easy and efficient solution for users to check their coverage and explore broadband options during the New Zealand Agricultural Fieldays events in 2016 and 2017. Our objective was to provide fast delivery of information and match farm owners with the right tools to meet their specific broadband requirements.
Our activities included the development of customer profiles and scenarios, prototyping the user experience, and conducting limited testing with potential users given the short timeframes before the Fieldays events.
The resulting solution had several positive effects:
• It provided an easy and quick way for users to access coverage and broadband information.
• Users could easily check their coverage and explore options for extending it.
• The solution allowed users to determine their specific broadband requirements and find matching options, leading to signups for more information.
• The user interface was intuitive and required minimal assistance or explanation from Vodafone customer support during Fieldays.
• The solution generated a significant number of signups during the event.
The Coverage Map and Smart Farm Test were also made available online for desktop and mobile users beyond the event.
Through our efforts, we successfully provided a user-friendly and efficient solution that met the needs of attendees at the New Zealand Agricultural Fieldays, empowering them to make informed decisions about coverage and broadband options for their farms.
